Philbrook Farm Inn

We bring our dog to Philbrook every year. It's a great place to explore with all the trails, and most have spectacular views. Even the field has mowed paths that lead to the river. If you have breakfast and dinner there, you'll feel full all day. You can work it off with a short or long hike or just take a drive. It's very relaxing and Mt. Washington is a short ride away.

I was somewhat concerned about some of the negative reviews posted here, but am very glad I went ahead with a three night stay for skiing at Sunday River. This is a nice, classic New England inn, listed on the National Register of Historic Places and truly "of a different era". It is operated by a gracious and helpful fifth generation brother and sister. Full of character, the inn is filled with antiques, historic photos, maps and cheerful seasonal decorations. With Ann and Denise's delicious breakfasts and dinners included in the price of the room, I found this inn to be a very good value as well. No tv (fine) but I found my room and bath to be well appointed and very clean. Took an enjoyable day off from alpine skiing to snowshoe some of the 800+ acres of woodland which helped me appreciate the cross country/snowshoeing/hiking potential of this location. A great find if you are looking for this type of experience!

Our stay at this beautiful, quiet inn was superb. We sat on the porch looking over a hayfield toward the Presidential Range. Dinner was very good, served in the fine old dining room. The bed was very comfortable. Breakfast was great. And the hosts were friendly. What a treat!

Philbrooks is a wonderful place to stay if you are looking for a classic New England inn. We take our family every summer and there is so much to enjoy. The best park of Philbrooks is the location. Trails lead straight from the property to Mt. Craig or Bowl and Pitcher, and with a short drive, you have so many great outdoor opportunities. Can't wait to return next summer!

I wish i got more pictures i didnt stay here but we all went there to check it out for my nieces wedding in a couple of years this place was they perfect background for wedding pictures and they owner Anne that shower us around what a sweet lady. This is a bed and breakfast that serves breakfast and dinner it was really really nice

Loved this place! Larry and Ann’s family have owned this inn since its beginnings in the 1830s and now they run the place. It’s a lot larger than it appears in photos. The rooms and walls are adorned with historic relics and the screened-in sunporch adds extra charm. The beds were firm with cotton sheets and wool blankets and our room was nicely appointed. It was the off-season so the owners took on roles of chef and waiter to serve up bountiful breakfasts and dinners for my friend and me. Lovely walk down the road through the conservation easement. This place is delightful! Come see for yourself.

We loved our stay at the Philbrook! Beautiful, sprawling, quiet inn with so many interesting historical features. The service is great, our meals were delicious and plentiful. It's a truly unique place with a stay experience that you won't find in many places anymore. Under an hour drive from some beautiful hikes and adventures in Maine and the White Mountains. If we're up this way again, we will be back!

Is been a while....but a most enjoyable place to stay. Hand me down puzzles made of wood with paper placemats glues on top...cut up and varnished....oh my..... The food was home..... Slept like a log..... what wonderful people.... And yes I would stay again......
